Experienced Diesel Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform maintenance work on a Fleet of Extensive Diesel Engine Heavy Duty Trucks and Trailers in Calverton, NY.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Job Description:
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on Heavy Duty Trucks and Trailers.
• Conduct diagnostics with limited supervision.
• Complete most repairs and parts replacements, such as oil changes air/hydraulic breaks, transmissions….
• Repair and rebuild pumps: hydraulic, electric and pneumatic
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Fabrication of parts and equipment.
• Communicate with Drivers regarding “Vehicle Condition Reports" and make appropriate repairs.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualified Candidates For Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Will Have The Following Education/Experience:
• 2 - 5 years of experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment is required.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
• Must have your own tools, a stable work history, and a great attitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trade school, mechanical course, or equivalent highly desired.
• A valid Class B CDL is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.

We seek a hard working portables technician to service our growing business line of portable rentals.
We offer the widest variety of portable rentals in the New York Metropolitan Area. Miller Portable Services can provides everything from luxury portable restroom toilet trailers varying in size from 8’ – 24’ to single portable restroom toilets, solar powered portable restroom toilets, portable shower trailers, single portable showers, combination portable restroom/shower trailers, personnel decontamination trailers, generator rentals, individual portable hand wash stations, portable fence rentals and portable light tower rentals.
The portables technician will be responsible for the delivery, set up, cleaning, maintenance, and removal of portable units, generators, light stands, temporary fencing, etc. The work requires 24/7 on-call availability. Individual must be a pro-active self-starter, who has strong problem solving abilities, as well as basic mechanical and/or construction abilities and strong communication and writing skills. This is a hands on position that has physical demands as well as customer service and problem solving components. The environmental Hazmat Technician is primarily responsible for the cleaning and decontamination of regulated materials form spills, trenches, drains, oil/water separators, boilers, vats, and other industrial cleaning applications. The work is labor intensive and requires 24/7 on-call availability. Hazmat Technicians will be given on the job and classroom training to perform all labor services work in strict compliance with all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations. CDL Class A individuals will transport equipment and waste, manage disposals and equipment operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· On Call availability for scheduled rotation and emergencies
· Will run, maintain and troubleshoot motors, pumps, chainsaws, generators, outboard motors, air compressors, asphalt cutters and other small power tools.
· Responsible for the safe operation of utility trucks, box trucks, roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, guzzlers and other vehicles of the trade consistent with the proper licenses.
· Prompt attendance on job assignments which may encompass early start times
· Ability to properly fill out daily job sheets and waste manifests
· Ability to read and understand OSHA safety regulations and perform all tasks safely.
· Maintain up to date training and education for licenses, permits and regulatory information specific to responsibilities.
· Individuals must be pro-active self-starters who can work safely in crews of 2-10 and follow chain of command structure, with guidance and orders dictated by supervisors and foreman.
