We are seeking a Junior Geologist to be responsible, under the supervision of a Sr. Geologist, for managing projects from start up to completion, to include field instruction, safety training and review. In addition you will be expected to develop good client / regulatory relations. At all times you will conduct yourself professionally and project Miller Environmental positively to employees and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform field sampling / surveying
- Conduct Phase I / II Environmental Assessments
- Inspect, Maintain and Service Remediation systems
- Client relations
- Solicit new business
- Work with crew to achieve 100% utilization of staff and equipment
- Complete documentation of all field activities, with follow up reporting
Qualification/Requirements:
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as CAD
- Superior communication skills
- Excellent project & time management capabilities
- A creative leader who is also goal-driven and detail-oriented
- Valid Unrestricted Driver’s License
- Exemplify consistent professionalism, good humor and ethical behavior
- Strong problem solving, analytical and employee relations skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to write reports, logs and file permits
- Must pass DOT and Hazmat physical, drug and alcohol screening, and detailed background check
Education/Training/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Physical Science Required
- Knowledge of Surveying a plus
- Knowledge of Geoprobe Operations a plus

- The work is primarily performed in the field, outdoors in the heat or cold for up to 8-12 hours per day. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
- To reduce exposure to harmful materials, workers often wear coveralls, gloves, shoe covers, safety glasses, or goggles. Some must wear fully enclosed protective suits for several hours at a time; these suits may be hot and uncomfortable and may cause the workers who wear them to experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces). In extremely toxic cleanups, hazmat workers are required to wear respirators or personal air monitors.
